A 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Friday night has left over 2,500 people injured and hundreds dead. This is thought to be the largest earthquake to hit the nation in more than a century.
In rural communities like Tafeghaghte, Morocco, where more than half of the 160 residents. This includes the four members of Bouissirfane’s family—are believed to have perished, the toll of the enormous earthquake that claimed more than 2,800 lives was starkly evident on Monday.

In the High Atlas Mountains’ Al Haouz province, where narrow, winding roads were blocked by debris and villages were left to fend for themselves, the majority of the destruction and fatalities occurred.
