Delhi Minister Atishi was hospitalized early Tuesday after her health deteriorated due to her ongoing hunger strike. AAP leader Sanjay Singh later confirmed that Atishi’s indefinite hunger strike had ended following her hospitalization, as reported by PTI. She had been fasting to protest Haryana’s refusal to release Delhi’s rightful share of water.
“My blood pressure and sugar levels are dropping, and my weight has decreased. Ketone level is very high which can have harmful effects in the long run. No matter how much my body suffers, I will continue the fast till Haryana releases water,” she said on Monday.

“Her (AAP leader Atishi) condition is stable now. Her blood sugar was very low when she was brought to the hospital last night. We advised her to get admitted. She is currently in emergency ICU,” says LNJP MD Dr Suresh Kumar while giving update on Delhi Minister Atishi’s health who is on an indefinite fast over the water crisis issue in the city.
According to the AAP press release, a health checkup on the minister. It revealed that her blood pressure and sugar levels dropped drastically.
The speed with which Atishi’s blood sugar level and blood pressure have dropped has been described by doctors as dangerous, said AAP.
Delhi Water Crisis: Water Shortage in Delhi
Atishi highlighted that Delhi has been experiencing a shortfall of 100 million gallons of water per day (MGD) consistently over the past three weeks. Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena met with AAP leaders on Sunday. After the meeting, Saxena stated that Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini had assured him that he would investigate the possibility of supplying extra water to the city.
