Palak Sidhwani, who portrays Sonu Bhide on TMKOC , accused producers of exploitation after receiving a legal notice for allegedly breaching her contract. She stated in an interview that she left the show for professional growth and health reasons.

Neela Film Productions has claimed that Palak Sindhwani, who portrays Sonu in TMKOC, violated key rules in her contract, mainly concerning unauthorized endorsements and appearances. In response, Palak stated, “I notified the production house on August 8 about my decision to leave the show.”
They said they needed time and promised to send me an official email for my resignation letter, but that never came. After weeks of delays in approving my resignation, I was surprised to see media articles claiming I had breached the contract.
She added, “I signed the contract five years ago, but they denied me a copy until September 19, 2024. They initially agreed to allow me brand endorsements, which I began after the pandemic. However, once I announced my decision to leave, they suddenly took action against me.”
“I’ve sought legal advice for my career as I plan to leave the show for health and professional reasons. Despite several meetings, there’s been no resolution. This feels exploitative after five years, and they’re complicating my exit from Taarak Mehta just because I want to leave.”
