Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, will have its premieres on the evening of December 4.
The film’s producers decided to raise ticket prices, with some theatres in Delhi and Mumbai charging over ₹2000. Despite criticism, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma defended the price hike.
RGV wrote a detailed note in Telugu on X (formerly Twitter), criticizing people in his usual style for complaining about the increased ticket prices.
He also compared the entertainment industry to the luxury market.
He wrote, “A man named Subbarao opened an idli restaurant and priced his idlis at ₹1000 per plate, believing they are superior.
However, if customers don’t find the idlis worth the price, they simply won’t visit. In this case, Subbarao is the only one who loses.”
