Multiplex Association Declares National Cinema Day: Tickets at Only 99 Rupees

On October 13th, as a part of National Cinema Day, moviegoers in various cities across India will have the opportunity to watch films at selected cinemas for just Rs 99. This decision has been made by the Multiplex Association with the aim of boosting attendance at movie theaters.

On National Cinema Day last year, more than 65 lakh moviegoers visited cinemas. It made September 23 the highest attended day of the year at theaters. The houseful boards were returned to the ticket counters because most of the shows were sold-out. Looking at such a great response, the Multiplex Association decided to continue experimenting with lower-priced models, and National Cinema Day is a part of this.

In addition to Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra, there were a few other Bollywood films that also benefitted from this practice.

Now the latest blockbuster of Shah Rukh Khan, Jawan will also benefit from the weekend in the mid-Octobe. It could increase the film’s box office prospects, in addition to the National Cinema Day occasion.
