Reunited with JP Dutta for “Border 2” Sunny Deol calls it “India’s biggest war film”

On the 27th anniversary of “Border,” actor Sunny Deol has confirmed the second installment of the franchise through an announcement video. Taking to Instagram, Sunny shared a video officially announcing his return in “Border 2,” calling it “India’s biggest war film.” In the caption, he wrote, “A soldier is coming back to fulfill a 27-year-old promise. India’s biggest war film, #Border2.” The film will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, and directed by Anurag Singh.

Fans excited for Sunny Deol’s “Border 2” announcement

Following Sunny’s announcement video, social media users quickly filled the comment section with excitement. One user wrote, “Wow, it’s a great announcement, Sir. Jai Hind.” Another added, “Super excited.” A third commented, “Very excited for Border 2.”

The Dutta family and Sunny Deol are set to reunite, especially following Deol’s rapid rise after the immense success of ‘Gadar 2: The Katha Continues’. Ayushmann Khurrana is also expected to join the cast, with his contract anticipated to be finalized next week. The filmmakers were adamant about having Sunny on board for the project. While Nidhi is driving the creative aspects of the film, she has reportedly entrusted the directorial duties to Anurag Singh, known for helming the Akshay Kumar-led period drama ‘Kesari’.

Sunny Deol’s upcoming projects

Sunny Deol’s latest appearance was in “Gadar 2” alongside Amisha Patel. The film achieved significant box office success and was declared an all-time blockbuster. Following this success, Sunny has signed several new projects, including “Lahore 1947,” produced by Aamir Khan. The film will be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, known for directing Aamir in the cult classic “Andaz Apna Apna” (1994).
