Zeeshan Siddique, Son of Baba Siddique, Joins Ajit Pawar’s NCP to Contest Maharashtra Elections from Bandra East

Zeeshan Siddique, son of the late Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra. Minister who was shot earlier this month, join Ajit Pawar Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Friday. Ahead of the state assembly elections set for November 20. He has been expelle from the Congress in August.

Zeeshan, currently an MLA for Bandra East, was nominat to run against Varun Sirdesai. A Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate and cousin of Aaditya Thackeray. Shortly after joining the NCP for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections.

Zeeshan Expresses Gratitude Amidst Emotional Announcement

Zeeshan expressed, “Today is an emotional day for me and my family. I’m grateful to Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel, and Sunil Tatkare for their trust in me during these challenging times. I’ve received the nomination for Bandra East. And I’m confident that with the support and affection of the community, I will win again.”

Earlier this week, Zeeshan made a pointed remark about the Congress after its ally. Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), announced its candidate for the Bandra East seat, referring to them as “old friends.”

On X, Zeeshan Siddique remarked that “old friends” have revealed their candidate for the Bandra East seat. Emphasizing that it was never in the Congress’ nature to provide support.

He stated, “I’ve heard that old friends have announced their candidate in Bandra East. Supporting others was never their way. It’s important to maintain relationships with those who respect and honor you. There’s no value in just gathering a crowd. The public will make the decision now!”

Investigation Underway Following Tragic Shooting of Senior NCP Leader Baba Siddique

This development follows the tragic shooting of his father, senior NCP leader Baba Siddique. Outside his office near Colgate Ground in Nirmal Nagar. Several arrests have been make in connection with the murder. And the investigation is ongoing to identify the mastermind behind the attack.

The Maharashtra assembly elections are set for November 20, with vote counting for all 288 constituencies plane for November 23.

The primary electoral battle will be between two alliances: Mahayuti, which includes the BJP, Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party, and Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), and Maha Vikas Aghadi, consisting of the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and Sharad Pawar’s NCP.

In the 2019 assembly elections, the BJP secured 105 seats, the Shiv Sena won 56, and the Congress obtained 44. The NDA is aiming for re-election in the upcoming polls, while the opposition’s MVA alliance is looking to regain power after the Uddhav Thackeray-led government was oustiee due to a split in the Shiv Sena.
