From US Tech Career to Tamil Nadu Grassroots Politics

Ayyasamy joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and became district president of Tenkasi in Tamil Nadu. He committed himself fully to grassroots development activities across rural villages in the district. He helped construct bus shelters and restore a large hundred-acre water tank system locally. He worked on strengthening water bunds and removing invasive plants affecting agricultural land areas. He also planted thousands of palm saplings to support environmental sustainability efforts across villages. His efforts included organizing medical camps and supporting educational workshops for rural youth development. He actively encouraged sports participation among students and young people in local communities. He also supported shelters by donating food and building community infrastructure for residents.

Ayyasamy envisioned transforming Tenkasi into a high-tech employment hub with one lakh jobs by 2032. He aimed to develop the region into a center for innovation, skills, and sustainable economic growth. He personally invested significant financial resources into development projects across multiple villages in the district. He later revealed that he spent several lakhs of personal savings on community initiatives. He also sacrificed valuable family time while working continuously across rural regions for years. Election Defeat and Emotional Impact on Family Life

During Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Ayyasamy expected his years of service to influence political outcomes positively. However, election results showed his party failed to win any seat in Tenkasi district. DMK candidate Kalai Kathiravan won the seat, defeating AIADMK candidate by over ten thousand votes. Ayyasamy expressed disappointment after observing limited electoral impact despite extensive grassroots efforts. He stated that short-term election spending outweighed years of continuous service in influencing voters. He shared his frustration through a deeply emotional social media post after results were declared. He described the outcome as painful despite his dedication and long-term commitment to development work.

Despite electoral disappointment, Ayyasamy continues to believe in his long-term vision for Tenkasi development. He remains committed to creating employment opportunities and improving infrastructure in rural regions. He continues to focus on skill development, innovation, and sustainable growth initiatives across the district. He has not abandoned his political or social mission despite recent setbacks in elections. His experience reflects the emotional and practical challenges of grassroots political engagement. He continues working toward his goal of transforming Tenkasi into a modern economic hub. His journey highlights the conflict between idealism, sacrifice, and political reality in public life.
