Comedian Shyam Rangeela, renowned for his videos impersonating Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has announced his intention to run for the Lok Sabha Elections in 2024 against the Prime Minister, competing for the Varanasi seat.
The Varanasi parliamentary constituency in Uttar Pradesh is scheduled to vote in the seventh phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 on June 1. The election results will be announced on June 4.Rangeela declared his candidacy for the Varanasi seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections via social media on Wednesday, May 1.

Hailing from Hanumangarh in Rajasthan, Rangeela was raised there and pursued studies in animation. He gained recognition for his talent in mimicry, particularly of political personalities. He showcased his comedic abilities on television, notably in ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’.

In addition to Modi, Rangeela has also produced mimicry content featuring other political figures such as Rahul Gandhi. Over a considerable period, Rangeela has voiced criticism of PM Modi and his policies, evident through his videos. In fact, his candidacy announcement video included segments where Rangeela can be heard mimicking PM Modi’s voice.
