Lok Sabha Election 2024 dates will be announced during a press conference scheduled for 3 pm tomorrow. On Friday, the Election Commission announced that it would unveil the timetable for the Lok Sabha elections as well as elections in certain state assemblies the following day.
The Election Commission will hold a press conference at 3 pm tomorrow, Saturday, March 16th, at New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan to announce the schedule for the Lok Sabha elections and some state assemblies. The event will be live streamed on the Election Commission’s social media platforms.

The Model Code of Conduct will be enforced immediately following the announcement. This code comprises guidelines provided by the Election Commission for political parties, candidates, the government, and the ruling party during elections, pertaining to speeches, declarations, election manifestos, and overall behavior.
Polls were Announced on March 10
The Lok Sabha polls were announced on March 10 and scheduled to be held in seven phases starting from April 11, with vote counting set for May 23. The announcement of the poll schedule coincided with the induction of two new election commissioners, Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, into the election panel.

Two vacancies for election commissioners in the Election Commission of India arose after Arun Goel’s unexpected resignation last week and the retirement of Anup Chandra Pandey on February 14.
The forthcoming announcement will also lay the groundwork for the political showdown between the NDA government led by PM Narendra Modi and the INDIA bloc led by the Congress.
