Around midnight on Sunday, the Congress office in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, was subjected to an attack. Unidentified troublemakers vandalized numerous vehicles parked outside the office, causing chaos before quickly fleeing the scene. Police responded promptly, arriving at the location to investigate the incident. A case has been filed against the perpetrators, whose identities remain unknown, based on a complaint.

Congress shares video, blames BJP for amethi violence
Congress took to X platform to share a video depicting smashed car windows and scattered glass on the ground. Accusing the BJP of resorting to violence due to fears of defeat in Amethi, the party mentioned Smriti Irani, BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate. The tweet, roughly translated from Hindi, stated, “Frustrated by the impending defeat, BJP goons armed with sticks and rods attacked outside the Congress office in Amethi, vandalizing parked vehicles. This brutal attack targeted Congress workers and the people of Amethi, resulting in numerous injuries. Local residents’ vehicles were also damaged in the incident. Despite the chaos, the police administration remained inactive. This incident underscores BJP’s anticipated significant loss in Amethi.

Violence precedes priyanka Gandhi’s campaign visit
The incident occurred just before Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was set to lead the Lok Sabha campaign in Raebareli. The party recently ended speculation by announcing Rahul Gandhi as their candidate for Raebareli and Kishori Lal Sharma for Amethi. Both constituencies are known as Congress strongholds. According to news agency PTI, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will be stationed in Raebareli and Amethi from today until the conclusion of the polls.
