The CAG report evaluates the condition of Delhi’s government hospitals, mohalla clinics, and other healthcare facilities under the former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration. On Friday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report on the state of the capital’s health services in the assembly, as reported by ANI. According to the report, the previous AAP-led government in Delhi severely mismanaged the COVID-19 pandemic, utilizing only ₹582.84 crore out of the ₹787.91 crore allocated by the central government.

CAG Report Highlights Poor Infrastructure in Mohalla Clinics and AYUSH Dispensaries
The CAG performance audit report 5 of 2024, covering the period from 2016-17 to 2021-22, highlighted the critical condition” of Mohalla clinics under the AAP-led government. The report revealed that 21 Mohalla clinics lacked toilets, 15 had no power backup, six did not have a table for check-ups, and 12 were not accessible for individuals with physical disabilities. A similar situation was observed in AYUSH dispensaries, where 17 out of the 49 inspected dispensaries lacked power backup, seven had no toilets, and 14 did not have access to drinking water, as reported by ANI.

BJP Criticizes AAP Over Healthcare Shortcomings in Delhi
This is the second CAG report presented in the assembly, assessing the condition of Delhi’s government hospitals, Mohalla clinics, and other healthcare facilities under the former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration. Before the report’s presentation, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticized the previous Delhi government and alleged significant shortcomings in healthcare facilities. The party claimed that government hospitals lacked adequate resources, forcing patients to struggle for proper treatment, as reported by ANI.

Sirsa Accuses Kejriwal of Misusing Healthcare Funds
Delhi minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa alleged that the second CAG report would reveal how former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal misused funds allocated for hospitals and healthcare services.How he (Kejriwal) exploited Delhi’s resources under the guise of hospitals and health services. How Mohalla clinics lacked basic power supply. The CAG report will prove that Arvind Kejriwal is ‘kattar beimaan. Sirsa stated, as per ANI.
