Amit Shah Vows to Reclaim Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir Amid Protests

During a rally in Serampore, West Bengal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah pledged that India would reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) from its estranged neighbor amidst ongoing violent protests in the region. Shah highlighted that since the BJP-led government repealed Article 370, peace has been restored in Jammu and Kashmir. However, he pointed out that while the region now enjoys stability, chants for freedom are resonating in PoK. Shah further noted that prior to the 2019 revocation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status, stone-pelting incidents were common in the former state, whereas now such disturbances are occurring in PoK.

Responding to Mani Shankar Aiyar’s comment that India should respect Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities, Amit Shah asserted that India will reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir regardless of their atomic bombs. He criticized Aiyar’s stance and declared PoK as part of India. Shah also urged West Bengal voters to choose between “jihad” and “development” in the upcoming elections, according to PTI.

BJP’s Ambitious Agenda for Over 400 Seats in Lok Sabha

During a rally in Jharkhand, Amit Shah announced that the BJP plans to construct the ‘Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi’ and ‘Gyanvapi’ temples and implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) if they secure over 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted that just as the BJP successfully built the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and abrogated Article 370 after surpassing 300 seats in 2019, achieving over 400 seats would enable them to merge Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) with India and fulfill their new commitments.

On Monday, Pakistan’s paramilitary rangers fired upon protesters in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir who were demanding lower electricity taxes, subsidy cuts, and an end to perks for the prime minister and president. Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma asserted that the BJP will merge Pakistan-occupied Kashmir with India if they win over 400 Lok Sabha seats.
