Rahul, Kejriwal Criticise Telegram Ban Ahead of NEET Re-Exam
Kejriwal called the government’s step “absurd” and doubted its effectiveness against organised paper leaks. He argued that banning apps would not stop a large-scale examination scam network. He claimed the paper leak issue involves deep-rooted corruption and financial incentives. His remarks suggested that enforcement targets symptoms instead of actual culprits.
Rahul Gandhi further said authorities are unfairly targeting platforms instead of investigating real offenders. He accused the system of punishing users while protecting those responsible for leaks. He also said students depend heavily on Telegram for study material and discussions. Gandhi described the restrictions as unnecessary pressure on already stressed candidates.

Opposition Questions Govt Move on Telegram Block Over NEET Leak Fears
The National Testing Agency temporarily restricted Telegram use ahead of the NEET-UG re-exam. Officials claimed fraudsters used the platform to circulate fake leaked paper claims. The agency said it acted to prevent malpractice and protect examination integrity. It also warned students about misleading videos and manipulated chat content.
Telegram challenged the ban in the Delhi High Court seeking immediate relief. Authorities maintained strict monitoring ahead of the scheduled re-exam on June 21. Meanwhile, debate intensified over student pressure and government security measures. Opposition leaders continued demanding stronger action against exam leak networks.
