Jharkhand Protest: Students Burn Soren, Rahul Gandhi Effigies as Government

The Jharkhand protest entered its 23rd day on Sunday as students intensified their campaign against the State Government. Protesters burnt effigies of Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium. They alleged that the government had ignored their demand for a CBI probe. The students have raised concerns over alleged irregularities in competitive exams conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).

The protesters said the government had failed to address their concerns despite several rounds of discussions. They accused officials of delaying action on their demands. The students also questioned the government’s commitment to ensuring fairness in recruitment exams. Their protest has attracted attention across Ranchi as they continue to seek accountability and transparency.

Protesting students demand a CBI probe into alleged recruitment exam

Meanwhile, the State Government has called for a fourth round of talks with the protesting students. The move comes amid growing pressure from the protesters. Earlier discussions failed to produce a solution acceptable to both sides. The government now hopes another meeting can help reduce tensions and create a path forward.

The students, however, continue to demand a CBI investigation into the alleged exam irregularities. They believe an independent investigation can establish the facts and identify those responsible. They have also urged the government to protect the interests of genuine job aspirants. For many students, recruitment exams offer a crucial opportunity to secure government jobs and build stable careers.

The latest developments have added fresh momentum to the Jharkhand protest. The government must now balance the students’ demands with the need for a credible recruitment process. A constructive dialogue could help both sides resolve the dispute. However, the protesters have indicated that they will continue their campaign until authorities address their concerns. The fourth round of talks could therefore prove important in determining the next course of the movement.
