Indian-flagged Ship Sinks Off Yemen Coast After Projectile Attack,

An Indian-flagged ship sank off the Yemen coast after a projectile struck the vessel in the Red Sea. The attack caused the MSV Faize Noore Oliya to capsize before it finally went under. Officials confirmed that all 14 crew members escaped safely. Thirteen of them were Indian nationals. Rescue teams reached the vessel quickly and brought everyone to safety. However, authorities have not identified the group responsible for the attack.

India’s Shipping Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal, condemned the incident. He described the strike as an unprovoked attack on a commercial vessel. He also promised stronger efforts to protect Indian seafarers operating in the region. Meanwhile, the government continued to monitor the situation closely. Officials said the safety of Indian crews remains a top priority.

All 14 crew rescued after Yemen coast attack

India also called for an immediate end to attacks on civilian shipping.

The latest attack comes during growing tensions across the Middle East. Many shipping companies have changed their routes after Iran blocked the Strait of Hormuz earlier this year. As a result, several vessels started using the Red Sea as an alternative route. However, repeated attacks have increased risks for merchant ships. Security experts warn that threats to oil tankers and cargo vessels remain high.

The sinking of the Indian-flagged ship highlights the dangers facing commercial shipping near Yemen. Although every crew member survived, the attack has raised fresh concerns about maritime security.
