Sneha Debnath was last in contact with her mother at 5:56 am on July 7, informing her that she was heading to Delhi’s Sarai Rohilla Railway Station. After being missing for six days, her body was found on Sunday evening in the Yamuna River near the Geeta Colony flyover, according to the Delhi Police.

Note Found, Last Seen at Signature Bridge: Police Begin Search Operation
Sneha Debnath, a 19-year-old Delhi University student from Tripura who lived in South Delhi’s Paryavaran Complex, last contacted her family on the morning of July 7. After finding a handwritten note in her room suggesting suicidal intent, Delhi Police registered a case at Mehrauli Police Station and launched a search operation with the help of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams. Investigators traced her last known location to Delhi’s Signature Bridge, where a cab driver confirmed he had dropped her off that morning.

Clues Point to Signature Bridge: Delhi University Student’s Disappearance Shocks Family
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan told news agency PTI that the police launched an investigation after Sneha went missing. The cab driver confirmed he had dropped her at the Signature Bridge, and technical surveillance also placed her last location there. Sneha Debnath, a 19-year-old student from Sabroom in South Tripura district, was pursuing a BA in Mathematics at Delhi University’s Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College. Her family described her as “a bright, ambitious young woman, full of life and dreams,” and her sudden disappearance devastated them.

Sneha’s father, Subedar Major (Hon.) Lt Pritish Debnath (Retd), is battling chronic kidney failure and currently undergoing dialysis. In a desperate effort to find her, the family launched an online dashboard to collect leads from the public. Sneha last spoke to her mother at 5:56 AM on July 7, saying she would accompany her friend Pitunia to the Sarai Rohilla Railway Station. By 8:45 AM, her phone was switched off, immediately alarming the family. When they couldn’t reach her, they contacted Pitunia, who said she hadn’t met Sneha that day.
