Huge Manhunt In US For “Armed And Dangerous” Shooter Who Killed 22

Maine law enforcement-states that they have deployed a substantial number of officers across the state to search for Robert Card. Maine police launch extensive manhunt for mass shooting suspect, leaving 22 dead in the US. The police have named the suspect as Robert Card, a 40-year-old firearms instructor who had faced previous arrests for domestic violence.

“We have literally hundreds of police officers working around the state of Maine to investigate this case to locate Mr. Card, who is a person of interest,” Maine Public Safety Commissioner Mike Sauschuck told a news conference.

Police arrived at the Sparetime Recreation bowling alley at 7.15 pm local time in response to an active shooter. Minutes later, they received reports of another shooting at the Schemengees Bar & Grille.

The police have identified a person of interest as 40-year-old Robert Card, reportedly captured on surveillance entering a Lewiston town, Maine bowling alley with a semi-automatic weapon. US Authorities shared his images on social-media, cautioning residents not to approach him due to his “armed and dangerous” status. Card, a firearms-instructor with military training,had a two-week stay at a mental health facility in summer 2023,as per a police-bulletin.

Maine police say hundreds of officers are now working across the state to find Card. Local media reported that authorities are deploying helicopters and police cars throughout Maine in their efforts to locate Card. Authorities have encouraged residents to maintain their shelter-in-place status and refrain from going outside.

Police have announced the discovery of a “vehicle-of-interest,” a white SUV, in Lisbon, a town approximately eight miles from Lewiston. Residents in both areas had received warnings to remain off the streets.

Authorities locked down extensive portions of Lewiston, instructing businesses to close and residents to seek shelter as they commenced a manhunt for the shooter. Local schools will also be closed on Thursday.
