UP Policeman’s ₹20,000 Vanishes During Truck Ride, Driver Held After 13-km Chase

A sub-inspector in Uttar Pradesh’s Hamirpur has been suspended after a truck driver accused him of stealing ₹20,000 while taking a lift in his vehicle. According to the complaint, the officer requested a ride during his journey through the district. The driver agreed and dropped him near a toll plaza, where the officer reportedly got into his personal vehicle and left. After resuming his journey, the truck driver discovered that ₹20,000 was missing from his belongings. Suspecting the officer, he immediately turned his truck around and started chasing him.

Truck Driver Chases Sub-Inspector for 13 Km After Cash Goes Missing

The truck driver pursued the officer for nearly 13 kilometres before finally stopping his vehicle. A heated argument followed, and videos of the confrontation were recorded by people present at the scene. In the viral footage, the driver accused the sub-inspector of taking the missing cash. The money was allegedly recovered from inside the officer’s uniform during the confrontation. The dramatic incident quickly spread across social media, drawing widespread attention and strong reactions from the public.

After the videos went viral, Hamirpur Police released an official statement on its verified X account. Police confirmed that they had received a written complaint from the truck driver and initiated legal action.
