Three Khalistani militants attacking a Punjab police post were killed in a UP encounter

Three Khalistani terrorists, accused of attacking a police post in Punjab’s Gurdaspur. Were killed in an encounter in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, officials reported on Monday.

Joint Operation by Punjab and UP Police Targets Khalistani Terrorists

Punjab and UP Police carried out a joint operation targeting three terrorists from the Khalistani Commandos Force.

The deceased terrorists were identified as Gurvinder Singh, Virender Singh (alias Ravi), and Jaspreet Singh (alias Pratap Singh), all natives of Gurdaspur.

A Punjab Police team alerted the UP Police about the presence of three terrorists in the Puranpur area of Pilibhit. Acting on this tip-off, police from both states launched a joint operation.

The shootout occurred in the early hours of Monday, resulting in the three accused being killed.

The police stated that the encounter occurred within the Puranpur police station’s jurisdiction during a joint operation by Punjab Police and Uttar Pradesh Police.

Pilibhit SP Avinash Pandey provided details of the encounter, explaining that the terrorists opened fire on the police teams when intercepted. The police retaliated, critically injuring the three terrorists, who were later taken to the District Hospital and pronounced dead.

The SP stated, “Two of our constables, Sumit and Shahnawaz, were injured and are receiving treatment.”
