On Sunday, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was sent an email warning of potential explosions at 13 airports nationwide. The CISF office received the threat at 3:05 pm and subsequently initiated a search operation, but no suspicious items were discovered.
The bomb scare at Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Bhopal, Patna, Jammu, and Jaipur airports caused panic. However, following the investigation, the bomb threat assessment committee declared the threat as ‘non-specific’.

Bomb Threats Target Airports, Hospitals, and Schools
“Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Lucknow, and other airports received a threatening e-mail regarding explosive devices at 3.05 pm. The security team of CCSAI Airport conducted a thorough inspection of the entire airport. After the inspection, the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee declared the threat as ‘non-specific’,” the official statement read.
Apart from inspection and screening, Lucknow Airport is taking additional steps to ensure the safety of passengers, it added.
Earlier today, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) and over 10 hospitals received bomb threats via email. The Delhi Police later said that the threat was a hoax and a further probe was carried out to find out the miscreants who sent the email.
Earlier this month, bomb threats were sent to around 100 schools in Delhi, two in Noida and one in Lucknow on May 1, which later turned out to be a hoax. The threats were sent to the schools using a Russian email service.
