ACB Crackdown Intensifies: Rising Corruption Cases
Amid the Vikarabad case, Telangana has witnessed a sharp surge in Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) action against police personnel in 2026. In recent months, the ACB has caught more than seven officials red-handed in trap operations across Medak, Nirmal, Warangal, and Hyderabad, and has booked around 10–12 police personnel — including inspectors, sub-inspectors, and constables — in various corruption cases.
In a major recovery this year, the ACB seized over ₹34 lakh from a police inspector, exposing large-scale corruption. Officials revealed that most of these cases involve bribes demanded to avoid arrests, issue notices, or weaken criminal cases. The ACB has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward corruption, warning that strict action will continue against any public servant found guilty. The ACB is actively encouraging citizens to report bribery or corruption through the toll-free helpline 1064 to strengthen transparency and accountability.
