The father of the teenage driver accused of fatally hitting a 23-year-old biker in Delhi has publicly apologised. He described the crash as a grave mistake and expressed deep regret. He said his family remains shocked and ashamed after the incident. The father explained that he was in Gorakhpur for work when the accident happened. He believes the teenager took the car keys out of naivety. He added that stricter supervision might have prevented the tragedy.
He stated that the boy did not run away after the crash and tried to help at the scene. After learning about the accident, he advised family members to rush the injured victim to a hospital. He also sent a message to the victim’s mother, Inna Makan, seeking forgiveness. He acknowledged that nothing could undo the loss and said he would continue to apologise for the rest of his life.

The accident occurred earlier this month near Lal Bahadur Shastri College and was captured on camera. Police said the teen drove his father’s Scorpio SUV without a valid licence. The vehicle struck a motorcycle approaching from the opposite direction and then hit a parked taxi. The biker, Sahil Dhaneshra, died at the scene, while taxi driver Ajit Singh was hospitalised.
Authorities presented the teenager before the Juvenile Justice Board. Officials initially sent him to an observation home. The board later granted interim relief so he could appear for his Class 10 board examinations.
