TCS Nashik controversy: harassment allegations, conversion claims, Malaysia angle explained

TCS Nashik office Allegations of sexual harassment and coercion to convert religion have escalated into a major controversy . The case came to light in February after a political party worker filed a complaint with Nashik City Police, claiming that a Hindu woman employee had begun observing Ramzan fasts. Acting on this tip, police launched a covert operation inside the office. Investigators later claimed that several team leaders were involved in harassment, rape, and attempts to pressure co-workers into religious conversion. Authorities also cited WhatsApp chats linking victims to a Malaysia-based preacher through video calls.

Police took swift action, arresting seven employees and registering at least nine FIRs related to sexual harassment and forced conversion. The accused include multiple staff members, while an HR manager remains absconding as officials examine her role in recruitment and internal oversight. Most victims are women aged 18 to 25, earning modest salaries. Investigators are also reviewing bank accounts of the accused to check for suspicious financial transactions that could indicate organized wrongdoing.

FIRs, arrests, and SIT probe intensify TCS Nashik harassment and conversion case

The probe intensified after the first FIR was filed against an accused who allegedly misled a woman about his marital status and established a relationship under the promise of marriage. Police added charges of rape and hurting religious sentiments, stating that he also influenced her religious practices. This complaint encouraged more women employees to come forward with similar allegations, including mental harassment, inappropriate behavior, and workplace pressure.

To gather evidence, police deployed undercover personnel disguised as housekeeping staff, who monitored office interactions for weeks. Their findings supported further legal action, leading to multiple cases across Maharashtra. Officials formed a Special Investigation Team led by an ACP-level officer to handle the case. Meanwhile, TCS suspended the employees under investigation and reiterated its zero-tolerance policy, as political and corporate reactions continue to intensify.
