Officials revealed that the cake implicated in the tragic death of a 10-year-old girl from Punjab contained a concentrated dose of artificial sweetener. The family, including the girl, fell ill on March 24 after consuming the chocolate cake, ordered online from a Patiala bakery to celebrate her birthday.
District Health Officer Dr. Vijay Jindal informed NDTV that samples taken for testing revealed an elevated level of saccharine, a synthetic sweetening agent, Excessive intake can lead to a rapid increase in blood glucose levels.

Family falls after cake cutting, symptoms reported by manvi’s grandfather
In a widely circulated video on social media, she joyfully cut the cake and celebrated with her family mere hours before her tragic demise. Shortly after the cake cutting, the entire family, including Manvi’s younger sister, fell ill. Following her collapse, the family rushed her to a hospital, where she received oxygen but was pronounced dead shortly afterward. The family alleged that the chocolate cake, ordered from ‘Cake Kanha’, contained toxic substances.
