17 Women Accuse Delhi Godman of Molestation, His Car Found With Fake Embassy Plates

Police have launched an investigation after 17 female students accused a Delhi ashram director of sexual harassment. Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, also known as Partha Sarathy, runs Sri Sharda Institute in Vasant Kunj. He allegedly targeted post-graduate management students from the economically weaker sections (EWS) on scholarship. Victims reported that he used abusive language, sent inappropriate texts, and made unwanted physical advances. The students claimed that female faculty and administrative staff pressured them to remain silent. Some wardens allegedly introduced the students directly to the accused. The toxic atmosphere reportedly forced students to comply out of fear of losing scholarships and education. Police say the accused used his position to exploit vulnerable students systematically.

Delhi Ashram Director Accused of Sexually Harassing 17 Women Students

Based on the students’ testimonies, Delhi Police filed a case against Swami Chaitanyananda for sexual harassment. Deputy Commissioner Amit Goyal confirmed that 17 out of 32 students gave formal statements to police. Authorities raided the ashram and other known addresses but found the accused had already fled. He was last traced near Agra, and multiple police teams are actively searching for him. Officers are also interrogating staff members who may have assisted in his escape. CCTV footage from the institute is being reviewed for additional evidence. Police are investigating possible communication between the accused and other ashram personnel. Officials assured they are using all resources to bring him into custody quickly.

During the probe, police discovered a Volvo car with a fake diplomatic number plate in the basement. The vehicle, reportedly used by the accused, displayed forged plates marked “39 UN 1.” Authorities confirmed the plates were not issued by any embassy or government agency. Investigators suspect the fake plates helped him avoid police checks and move freely around Delhi. The car has been seized and sent for forensic examination. Police are also checking whether the vehicle is registered under his or the institute’s name. The use of fake diplomatic identification adds another layer of criminal activity to the ongoing case. Authorities are probing how he acquired such plates and who assisted in the process.

Police Launch Manhunt; Fake Diplomatic Plates Found on Accused’s Car

After the allegations surfaced, the ashram expelled Swami Chaitanyananda and removed him from all responsibilities. The Delhi unit is affiliated with Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetha in Sringeri, a prominent South Indian religious institution. In a public statement, the Peetha condemned the accused’s behavior as illegal and immoral. They stated his actions were against the institution’s principles and damaged its public image. The Peetha severed all ties with him and pledged full support to the investigation. Officials clarified that he no longer represents the organization in any form. They also promised reforms to prevent similar abuses in spiritual and educational settings. The Peetha emphasized its commitment to protecting students’ rights and safety going forward.

The institute had two student batches, each with over 35 students, many from poor backgrounds. Students depended heavily on scholarships and accommodation provided by the ashram, which made them vulnerable. Victims said they feared losing financial aid if they refused the accused’s inappropriate demands. Some staff allegedly warned them to stay silent or face consequences. The emotional pressure and institutional complicity left students isolated and afraid to speak out. Eventually, the survivors came together and reported the abuse to authorities and women’s rights groups. Their action triggered the criminal case and brought wider attention to the issue. Police are encouraging more victims or witnesses to come forward as the investigation continues.
