A former Canadian chef was charged on Monday with 14 counts of murder connected to suicides that occurred in Canada as a result of his online operation. The chef is accused of selling suicide kits that resulted in deaths in numerous nations.
Documents show that Kenneth Law, 58, is facing 14 charges already for allegedly “counseling or aiding” suicides throughout the province of Ontario.
Law’s defense attorney, Matthew Gourlay, also verified to AFP that the actor is facing 14 further charges of second-degree murder.
Law was detained in May for promoting a chemical that, while safe as a food additive, has lethal potential when used improperly. It is alleged that he preyed on weak individuals on the internet.
Since 2020, he is thought to have distributed up to 1,200 items to recipients in over 40 nations.

The media will be briefed by Toronto police on the fresh charges on Tuesday.
According to British authorities, at least 272 people bought items from Law’s websites, and 88 of them passed away.
Following an Interpol alert, investigations have been opened in a number of other nations, including Italy and New Zealand, where nine buyers have been identified and one victim has passed away.
According to investigators, the victims from Canada were both male and female and ranged in age from 16 to 36.
