Saif Ali Khan injured in robbery attempt at Mumbai home, police detain suspects

Mumbai Police have detained a few suspects on Thursday following an attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra (West) residence during a suspected robbery attempt.

The incident occurred around 2:30 am while Khan, his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their family members were asleep.

Khan allegedly got injured with a sharp object while trying to stop the thief. However, the thief managed to escape. Khan was then taken to the Lilavati hospital for treatment. The police further informed that a maid at the actor’s residence was also injured in the scuffle.

Deputy commissioner of police, zone 9, Dixit Gedam said, “An unidentified person entered the residence of actor Saif Ali Khan. The actor and the intruder had a scuffle and the former was injured.”

The police are investigating whether any valuables were stolen during the attack on Saif Ali Khan and have deployed multiple teams to track down the suspects. Crime branch officials are also conducting a parallel investigation into the incident.

Congress Questions Public Safety After Saif Ali Khan Attack

Reacting to the attack, Congress spokesperson Clyde Crasto expressed concern, stating, “The attack on Saif Ali Khan is alarming. If high-profile individuals with security can be targeted in their homes, what does this mean for the safety of common citizens? The fear of law appears to have diminished in Maharashtra due to past leniencies.”

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi criticized the Mahayuti government, calling the attack a disgrace. She remarked, “Another high-profile attack in Mumbai raises serious questions about the efficiency of Mumbai Police and the Home Minister. This incident, along with others such as the murder of Baba Siddique’s family awaiting justice and Salman Khan’s need for a bulletproof house, shows a troubling trend of targeting prominent figures. Bandra, home to many celebrities, should have adequate security, but these repeated incidents suggest otherwise.”
