Chhattisgarh: Robbers return stole Lord Hanuman’s idol

A group of robbers, who recently stole the idol of Lord Hanuman and his mace from a temple in Chhattisgarh’s Bhilai district, returned the robbed items.

The bizarre incident was reported from Kurud village of Bhilai district on Saturday early morning.

The Lord Hanuman’s mace was taken from the temple a month ago, per a Patrika.com story. At Jamul police station, a case was opened under Section 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against unnamed thieves. The temple’s priest and administrators filed the complaint. Later, the idol of Lord Hanuman was taken by the robbers.

The burglars last week on Friday gave back Lord Hanuman’s idol and mace after having a change of heart. They also presented Lord Hanuman’s mace and flowers to the idol.

A stolen idol of Lord Hanuman and a mace were discovered at the stairway when the custodian arrived to open the temple in the morning.

According to Hindu customs and culture, the idol of Lord Hanuman and his mace was reinstalled in the temple.

On the occasion, several villagers and caretakers, including Nand Kumar Pal, Anil Sen, Manish Sen, Bhola Sahu, Nandupal, Raman Jaangde,Neeraj Nishad, Anil Sonavani, Prashu Nishad, Keval Sahu, Chitrangad Nishad, Himanshi Sahu, Keval Sahu, Omkar Sahu, Mukesh Sahu, Manoj Markande, Harsh Devangan and Tushar Patel, were present.

The same thing happened in Uttar Pradesh

On May 20, 2022, burglars in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh, gave back 14 of the 16 idols they had taken from the temple of Lord Balaji.

Along with returning the idols, the thieves also left a note explaining how terrifying dreams compelled them to act. Additionally, they begged for pardon for taking the idols.
