A violent clash broke out in the Deoli-Uniara assembly constituency of Tonk district, Rajasthan. After Independent candidate Naresh Meena allegedly slapped Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Amit Chaudhary at a polling station in Samravata village. The incident sparked intense altercations, arson, and confrontations between police and Meena’s supporters, escalating tensions in the area.

60 Arrested Amid Stone-Pelting and Vehicle Torched in Tonk
Following the incident, Ajmer Range Inspector-General of Police Om Prakash confirmed that around 60 individuals were arrested after violence broke out in the village. According to Prakash, stone-pelting and arson occurred as police attempted to detain Naresh Meena. Multiple vehicles, including police cars, were set on fire or damaged. Prompting additional police forces to be deployed to bring the situation under control.
Meena Blames Authorities, Claims Supporters are Innocent
Naresh Meena, addressing news agency PTI, accused the district collector and SP of being responsible for the unrest. Asserting that the 60 arrested individuals were innocent. He took to social media platform X, assuring his followers of his safety and claiming, “Main theek hu… na dare the na darenge, aage ki ranniti bata di jayegi” (I am fine… I am not scared and will never be; further plans will be shared).

Authorities Respond, Ensure Voting Resumes Peacefully
In response to the disruption, Tonk SP Vikas Sangwan stated that police officials had arrived at Samravata village to address a voting boycott. During their presence, Meena allegedly entered the polling station and assaulted the SDM. Sangwan assured the public that legal action would be taken against Meena and added that voting in the area resumed without further incident after police intervention. Local authorities remain vigilant to prevent any additional escalation.
