A major protest erupted outside the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi following the lynching of Dipu Chandra Das. The demonstrations were organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal to demand justice and condemn attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. Protesters accused extremists of vandalizing religious sites and targeting minority communities, and they raised slogans while holding banners highlighting the alleged atrocities. Delhi Police increased security near the High Commission, deploying multiple layers of barricades and paramilitary forces to manage the crowd and prevent clashes. At least 12 people have been arrested in connection with the incident, as authorities continue investigations into the violent attack. International Reactions and Calls for Justice
Delhi Police and security agencies had anticipated protests and set up extensive arrangements around the High Commission. Three layers of barricades, police personnel, and paramilitary forces secured the area. Protesters attempted to push through the barriers, but authorities maintained control and avoided any serious incidents. The crowd expressed anger and solidarity for Dipu Das, while security agencies ensured the demonstration remained largely contained. Officials appealed to the protesters to maintain peace and emphasized that lawful protests should not endanger public safety or diplomatic personnel.
The incidents have highlighted tensions between communities and the importance of diplomatic protection. Both Indian and Bangladeshi authorities have emphasized the need for investigations, dialogue, and restraint to prevent escalation. Civil society groups and activists continue to call for justice for Dipu Das and stronger measures to protect minorities. While protests have drawn attention to alleged religious violence in Bangladesh, officials from both countries are coordinating to restore order and ensure diplomatic missions remain safe. The situation remains under close monitoring as authorities seek to balance public protest with international diplomatic obligations.
