One year later: Pahalgam Attack Leaves Deep Emotional Scars

Families of the Pahalgam attack victims have spent the past year coping with deep loss and lasting trauma. The April 22, 2025 attack in Jammu and Kashmir claimed 26 lives when terrorists opened fire in a meadow. The incident shocked the nation and left several families shattered. Asavari Jagdale, whose father Santosh Jagdale died in the attack, spoke about the difficult year her family faced. She said the tragedy affected many families who witnessed the loss of their loved ones. She highlighted the emotional strain and the struggle to move forward. Calls for accountability grow louder a year after the terror incident

The operation resulted in the elimination of several terrorists linked to major groups. Subsequent actions, including Operation Mahadev, neutralised attackers involved in the incident.

India also took diplomatic and economic steps after the attack to increase pressure. Authorities halted trade ties and reviewed key agreements with Pakistan. Security forces maintained operations to prevent further threats. Even after a year, families continue to mourn while seeking closure and accountability.
