The police recovered the body and sent it for a post-mortem. They have taken both suspects into custody and are continuing the investigation. Muskaan Rastogi’s parents, who accused her of murdering a merchant navy officer in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, expressed their outrage over the crime and demanded the death penalty for their daughter and the other accused.

Parents of Accused Demand Death Penalty, Call Daughter ‘Not Fit for Society’
Muskaan Rastogi and her partner, Sahil Shukla, allegedly killed her husband, dismembered his body, and sealed the remains in a drum filled with cement in Meerut’s Indiranagar area. Her parents, Pramod and Kavita, called her “not fit for society” and demanded justice for their son-in-law. The accused’s father told news agency ANI, “Muskaan killed her husband, Saurabh. She is not fit for society and endangers everyone. I urge others not to take such steps. The authorities should hang her till death, and if possible, broadcast it live.”

Mother of Accused Supports Death Penalty, Calls for Justice for Son-in-Law
Muskaan Rastogi’s mother called her son-in-law a good man and backed her husband’s demand for the death penalty. “Saurabh was a good man… We demand justice and want Muskaan to be hanged,” she told ANI. The police registered an FIR, arrested Rastogi and Sahil Shukla for murder, and confirmed the investigation was ongoing.
Merchant Navy Officer’s Murder: Wife and Her Partner Confess to Crime, Say Police
The police said Saurabh Shukla worked in London since 2023, returned to Meerut on March 4, and went missing the same day. Suspecting foul play, they questioned his wife, Muskaan Rastogi, and her partner, Sahil Shukla. During interrogation, Sahil confessed that he and Muskaan stabbed Saurabh to death on March 4, dismembered his body, placed the remains in a drum, and sealed it with cement, Meerut City SP Ayush Vikram Singh said.
