Man raped student on train, molested 5 other women at railway station

At Mumbai’s CSMT railway station, five additional women were spot acting inappropriately with a man who is accuse of sexually assaulting a student on a local train. In the footage, the accused is seeing elbowing and brushing past female commuters, but none of the victims cried out for help.

Nawazu Karim Sheikh, a 40-year-old man who sexually assaulted a 20-year-old college student on a local train in Mumbai, molested five other women at the station on the same day. CCTV shows Nawazu brushing up against and making indecent gestures at a woman, pushing her in public view, and elbowing her on the railway station platform.

However, none of the victims have complained to the police. Other videos show Nawazu accosting two other women commuters; the women didn’t confront him and are seeing walking away.

The accused sexually assaulted a student on Wednesday between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Masjid stations when she was alone in the compartment. A case of rape was file based on the student’s complaint. GRP teams analysed footage from surveillance cameras and arrested the accused on Wednesday night.
