BHOPAL: Early on Wednesday, in the Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh, a 27-year-old man killed eight members of his family, including his mother, wife, and three children, with an axe. This was just eight days after the guy’s marriage.

Around 2:30 in the morning, the incident happened in Bodal Kachhar hamlet, which is under the Tamia janpad panchayat. The Mahuljhir police station has jurisdiction over the village.

While the eight victims slept, they were all axed. The young man tried to cut off other members of his family, but he was noticed by a woman who had woken up to answer the call of nature. After that, he made his getaway and hanged himself.
