Man Axes Eight Family Members to Death, Dies by Suicide in Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL: Early on Wednesday, in the Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh, a 27-year-old man killed eight members of his family, including his mother, wife, and three children, with an axe. This was just eight days after the guy’s marriage.

Around 2:30 in the morning, the incident happened in Bodal Kachhar hamlet, which is under the Tamia janpad panchayat. The Mahuljhir police station has jurisdiction over the village.

While the eight victims slept, they were all axed. The young man tried to cut off other members of his family, but he was noticed by a woman who had woken up to answer the call of nature. After that, he made his getaway and hanged himself.

A year ago, he lost his mental equilibrium. But since receiving treatment, he’s been leading a regular life. On May 21st of this year, we got him married. But a few days into the marriage, he started having psychiatric issues once more. He axed his mother Siya Bai, his younger sister and elder brother Sharvan, their wives Barato Bai and Varsha Bai, as well as three of their children during the night. These folks were all dozing off in the courtyard.

He had an axe, and one of my older sisters-in-law had awakened up to answer the call of nature and tried to grab it. Her grandson was then attacked by him, and he hurt him. Dinesh fled and later hanged himself from a tree after my sister-in-law called for her sleeping son Apatiya, the accused’s uncle Talvi Singh Patel told.
