Shooter Shiv Kumar told the police that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had targeted Baba Siddique or Zeeshan for assassination

Shiv Kumar Gautam, one of the attackers involve in the murder of Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique on October 12. Was arreste in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday. He has disclosed startling information to the Mumbai Police about the Lawrence Bishnoi gang’s role in the crime.

Orders from the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang

During interrogation, Gautam informed Mumbai Police that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Had given him orders to kill either Baba Siddique or his son, Zeeshan Siddique. Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, had directed him to shoot whichever one he encountered first.

The police also apprehend four individuals—Anurag Kashyap, Gyan Prakash Tripathi, Akash Srivastava, and Akhilesh Pratap Singh—.Who were accuse of sheltering Gautam and aiding his attempt to escape the country. Baba Siddique, age 66, was shot dead by three gunmen in Mumbai Bandra area on October 12.

With Gautam’s arrest, the total number of arrests in the Baba Siddique murder case has reached 23. Earlier, a joint team from Uttar Pradesh’s Special Task Force. Revealed that the group was trying to flee to Nepal through the porous border near Bahraich.

Gautam revealed that he and two accomplices carried out extensive surveillance on Siddique in Mumbai. On October 12, during a busy festival, they seized the opportunity to assassinate the NCP leader. The other two gunmen, Gurmail Singh from Haryana and Dharamraj Kashyap from Uttar Pradesh, were apprehend at the scene.

Mumbai Police reported that after assassinating Baba Siddique. Shiv Kumar altered his appearance and stayed at the scene for a significant period. Blending in with the crowd to avoid detection. He then took an auto-rickshaw to Kurla Station and boarded a local train to Thane.

After arriving in Thane, he took an express train to Pune and discard his mobile phone to avoid being track. He stayed in Pune for about a week before traveling by train to Jhansi, where he remained for five days. From there, he went to Lucknow, where he purchased a new mobile phone to reconnect with his associates.

Gautam stay in Lucknow for around 11 days before heading to Bahraich, where he was eventually arrest. His associates had secured a safe house for him in a nearby village. Throughout his journey from Mumbai to Bahraich, Gautam relied solely on public transportation. He had planned to escape to Nepal on November 10, following orders from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The accuse inform police that he intend to travel to Ujjain and then Vaishno Devi before fleeing abroad, but his plans were thwart by his arrest. While escaping from Mumbai, he used a fellow passenger’s phone, who was traveling to Jharkhand, to contact his co-accused, Anurag Kashyap.

The Mumbai Police Crime Branch had been monitoring Shiv Kumar Gautam for 21 days, tracking several individuals linked to him. The police gathered extensive information about Gautam’s family and close associates, placing 45 people under surveillance.

Gautam had maintained regular contact with Shubham Lonkar, a scrap dealer who linked him to Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother and Zeeshan Akhtar, both before and after the murder. As the police investigation progress, it focuse on four suspects—Gyanprakash Tripathi, Anurag Kashyap, Akhilesh Pratap Singh, and Akash Srivastava—after they were seen in the market buying clothes that match Gautam’s size. A trap was set to appreh the accuse on November 10.

Gautam has been place in police custody until November 19. Authorities believe Lawrence Bishnoi’s young brother, Anmol, who is thought to be residing in Canada, was responsible for orchestrating the murder. However, the exact motive behind the crime remains unclear, according to the police.
