According to a report by Canada-based CTV News Edmonton, two individuals, one of whom was of Indian descent, lost their lives in a shooting incident in south Edmonton, Canada, on Monday.

Buta Singh Gill, proprietor of Gill Built Homes in Edmonton, has been identified as the individual of Indian descent involved. The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a shooting incident near Cavanagh Boulevard Southwest and Cherniak Way Southwest. The incident resulted in the deaths of two men.

Incident take placed in Edmonton, Canada
The Edmonton police stated, “Around 12:00 p.m. today, Monday, Apr. 8, 2024, officers from the Southwest Branch patrol were dispatched to a shooting incident reported in the vicinity of Cavanagh Boulevard SW and Cherniak Way SW.”

Mohinder Banga, a former Edmonton city councillor and ex-EPS member, visited the shooting scene upon hearing about Gill’s death, per CTV News Edmonton.
Banga expressed, “He was a genuinely kind individual, always ready to lend a hand to those in need without expecting anything in return. That was his character.” He further commented, “As you can see, there are many people gathered here, all of whom are expressing their condolences. The community is deeply shocked by this news.
