Hyderabad couple die by suicide, two children found dead

Police recovered a suicide note, allegedly written by the man, indicating that he was struggling with financial difficulties and health issues. A couple a 44-year-old man and his 35-year-old wife died by suicide after taking the lives of their two children, reportedly due to financial and health-related troubles, in Habsiguda, Hyderabad, on Monday night, police reported on Tuesday.

Couple and Their Two Children Found Dead in Suspected Murder-Suicide at Habsiguda

Police found the man’s and his wife’s bodies in separate rooms, while their minor children lay dead on the bed. Inspector N. Rajender of Osmania University police station told media persons, “The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at their residence in Ravindranagar Colony, Habsiguda. After receiving a call from neighbors, we rushed to the spot and began an investigation. A preliminary inquiry revealed that the couple first strangled their children to death before hanging themselves.”

Suicide Note Recovered; Police Launch Investigation

The police recovered a suicide note from the spot, allegedly written by the man, revealing his struggles with financial problems and health issues. Rajender said, “We shifted the bodies to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem and are investigating the case,” adding that the police filed a case of suspicious deaths.

Family’s Financial Struggles and Unemployment Possibly Led to Tragedy

The police officer stated that the family, originally from Mukuralla village in Kalwakurthy block of Mahabubnagar district, moved to Habsiguda a year ago. He said the man had worked as a lecturer in a private college but lost his job six months ago. He explained that the man’s prolonged unemployment caused severe financial distress for the family, which might have led to the mass suicides.

Suicide Note Reveals Man’s Struggles with Health and Career

In the note, the man conveyed his deep distress over his declining career and worsening health. He stated that no one was responsible for his death and that he had no choice but to end his life and asked for forgiveness and revealed his struggles with his career, as well as his physical and mental suffering. He mentioned battling diabetes, nerve-related issues, and kidney diseases. The note was written in Telugu.
