Ex-Karnataka Top Cop Stabbed by Wife During Lunch Police

Former Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash sat at the dining table having lunch when his wife Pallavi allegedly started an argument and unexpectedly attacked him with a knife. He had two types of fish on his plate, and investigators found a lunch plate next to his body. Police recovered two knives and a broken bottle from the crime scene, believing they were used in the murder. Investigators suspect that Pallavi and their daughter Kriti played a role in the killing. After the attack, the mother and daughter allegedly wrapped Om Prakash’s body in a bedsheet and locked themselves in a room.

Pallavi Confesses to Murder Kriti Arrested After Refusing to Cooperate with Police

Pallavi later called the police to report the murder and then reportedly surrendered, confessing to the crime. When the authorities arrived, Kriti refused to come out of the room and did not respond to the police. They had to break open the door to apprehend her. The police also seized the mobile phones of Om Prakash, Pallavi, and Kriti.

Pallavi Claims Self-Defense in Om Prakash’s Killing, Alleges Threats with Gun

During initial questioning, Pallavi claimed she killed Om Prakash in self-defense, alleging that he frequently threatened her with a gun during arguments. She said that on the day of the incident, Om Prakash became violent and threatened her with a gun, prompting her to stab him in defense. Pallavi made this statement in front of Madiwala’s Assistant Commissioner of Police during her interrogation.

Om Prakash’s Abuse Claims and Fatal Struggle

However, sources revealed that Om Prakash had previously confided in senior police officials about enduring mistreatment from his wife. Preliminary findings indicate that he was stabbed multiple times, including in the chest, stomach, and arm, suffering 8-10 stab wounds, with 4-5 concentrated in the abdomen. The bloodied floor of the dining room showed signs of a struggle, and sources say he fought for about 15-20 minutes before dying. Pallavi allegedly watched him suffer during this time and then informed a senior IPS officer after he passed away.
