Bomb Threat on Air India Flight Sparks Emergency at Thiruvananthapuram Airport

A full emergency was declared at Thiruvananthapuram airport on Thursday after a bomb threat was reported on an Air India flight arriving from Mumbai. The flight touched down at approximately 8 a.m., was moved to an isolation bay, and all passengers were safely evacuated by 8:44 a.m.

Emergency Alert Issued by Pilot Near Thiruvananthapuram Airport

At approximately 7:30 AM, as the aircraft approached Thiruvananthapuram airport, the pilot communicated a potential threat. The aircraft was carrying 135 passengers. According to a report by PTI, details regarding the nature and source of the threat are still awaited. Following the pilot’s alert, a full emergency was declared at the airport at 7:36 AM. The report also noted that there has been no impact on life, and airport operations continue without interruption.

Air India Flight AI657 Safely Lands in Thiruvananthapuram Following Security Alert

On August 22, a specific security alert was detected on Air India flight AI657 during its journey from Mumbai to Thiruvananthapuram. The flight landed safely in Thiruvananthapuram and was moved to a remote bay for mandatory checks by security agencies. According to an Air India spokesperson, all passengers and crew members disembarked safely, as reported by ANI.

13-Year-Old Detained for Hoax Bomb Threat at Delhi Airport

On June 17, a 13-year-old boy was detained for allegedly sending a false email to Delhi Airport, claiming a bomb was planted on a Dubai-bound flight. The email prompted airport authorities to declare an emergency and place Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on high alert. Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI Airport) Usha Rangnani revealed that the boy sent the email “just for fun,” influenced by news of another teenager who had made a similar hoax bomb threat a few days earlier.
