Digital footprints suggest Pakistan’s hand, say investigators

Survivors confirmed that the five attackers who carried out the killings were armed with automatic weapons. Indian intelligence agencies tracked the Pahalgam attackers’ digital trail to safehouses in Muzaffarabad and Karachi, directly linking Pakistan to the incident. Investigating officials revealed that the attackers likely operated under the direction of a remote control-room, similar to the one used during the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

26 Hindu Tourists Targeted in Brutal Valley Attack

Terrorists targeted at least 26 Indian tourists mostly Hindu men on Tuesday, in one of the valley’s worst attacks in years. Preliminary forensic analysis and survivor statements reveal that the five attackers carried automatic weapons, including AK rifles, and advanced communication devices. Some of them even wore military-style fatigues. It is suspected that after entering India and, these terrorists were guided by local overground workers, who also provided them food, shelter and money, to different locations.

Pakistan-Based Control Hubs Linked to Attack

Intelligence intercepts directly link operatives based in Pakistan to the attack, officials said. Agencies have traced the digital footprints to safehouses in Muzaffarabad and Karachi key hubs previously used by Lashkar-e-Taiba for major attacks in India. The Pakistan Army and ISI supervised these operations from control centers. Intelligence inputs also indicate a coordinated, state-backed plot to infiltrate a larger number of highly skilled terrorists into India.

Pakistan-Based Infiltration Alerts and NIA Crackdown in Jammu and Kashmir

A second source said that in December last year and January this year, intelligence agencies received alerts that the Pakistan Army and ISI were actively facilitating the infiltration of highly skilled Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists across the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB) into India. Acting on these alerts, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted extensive searches across several locations in Jammu and Kashmir during February and March to track down the infiltrated terrorists and the overground workers assisting them.
