South Delhi: Cab driver stabbed to death for not giving space to overtake

In South Delhi’s Mehrauli area, a cab driver named Manoj Kumar tragically lost his life when three men on a motorcycle engaged in a confrontation with him over an overtaking dispute. The assailants stabbed him to death during the altercation. The police have apprehended a minor in connection with the incident, but the other two suspects involved in the stabbing are still evading capture. Manoj Kumar, a resident of Sangam Vihar, was employed as a cab driver for a Gurugram-based company.

Yesterday evening, he picked up five employees from Malviya Nagar and was heading to Mehrauli to pick up another employee when his cab got stuck in a traffic jam. Around 8.40 pm, the three accused arrived on a bike and asked Manoj to give way, but due to lack of space, he couldn’t. This led to a fight between them and one of them stabbed Manoj in the chest with a knife.

The trio then fled the scene. Locals, meanwhile, rushed Manoj to the hospital, but he died on the way.

Police were informed, after which a case was registered and an investigation was taken up. They examined CCTV cameras and managed to identify one of the accused, who is a minor, and apprehended him. The police are now searching for the remaining two accused.
