Darshan borrowed Rs 40 lakh, paid Rs 30 lakh to cover up murder of Renuka Swamy

Kannada film industry star Darshan Thoogudeepa has become embroiled in a significant controversy after being arrested by Bengaluru police last week. The actor is accused of planning the murder of Renuka Swamy, a 33-year-old pharmacy worker.

Darshan also known as “Challenging Star”, admitted in his statement to the police that he borrowed Rs 40 lakh from a friend.He used this money to pay his associates to destroy evidence related to the murder. Additionally, he reportedly paid Rs 30 lakh to other individuals to surrender and take the blame for the crime, hoping to divert attention away from himself.

Darshan Thoogudeepa’s Arrest Sparks Major Controversy

The investigation revealed that Darshan was in constant contact with the killers and that Swamy was first brought to him after being kidnapped. The police have arrested 17 people in connection with this case, including Darshan and Pavitra Gowda. The postmortem report of Renuka Swamy revealed disturbing details, further intensifying the case against Darshan.

The controversy began when Renuka Swamy, a fan of Darshan, allegedly sent derogatory messages to the actor’s rumoured girlfriend, actress Pavitra Gowda. Enraged by these messages, Darshan is alleged to have hired a contract killer to murder Swamy.

The police have seized Rs 40 lakh in cash and identified the friend who provided the money, named Mohan Raj. It is alleged that Darshan borrowed the cash to ensure he would not face legal trouble by destroying all evidence against him.
