India Bans 16 Pak YouTube Channels for Pahalgam Fake News

After the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 people lost their lives, India took strict action. Acting on the recommendations of the Home Ministry, the government banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels. These channels were reportedly involved in spreading communally sensitive misinformation. The move aims to curb the spread of false narratives that could incite unrest.

The decision to block these YouTube channels is part of a broader effort to maintain national security and public harmony. Authorities found that the banned channels were fueling tensions through misleading content. By acting swiftly after the attack, India hopes to prevent further misinformation campaigns. The ban reflects a firm stance against the misuse of digital platforms for divisive purposes. The terror attack occurred in Baisaran meadow, near the popular tourist town of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir.

Pahalgam Attack: NIA Intensifies Probe, Most Deadly Strike Since 2019 Pulwama

It was one of the deadliest attacks in the region since the 2019 Pulwama strike, which claimed the lives of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans The National Investigation Agency (NIA) teams, stationed at the Pahalgam terror attack site since April 23, have intensified the search for evidence following the incident. The teams, led by an IG, DIG, and SP from the anti-terror agency, are questioning eyewitnesses who observed the April 22 attack.

The Indian Army is also on high alert, launching several search operations to neutralise the terrorists following the attack in Pahalgam. The incident has sparked nationwide outrage, with widespread protests erupting across the country, demanding stricter action against Pakistan over the Pahalgam attack.
