Reports suggest that the Rajasthan Police may detain Manesar later tonight. Haryana Police detain Monu Manesar, cow vigilante accused of Rajasthan murders and inciting July violence in Nuh.
Activists from the Bajrang Dal accuse Manesar of playing a significant role in murder of two Muslim men from Rajasthan. In February, someone set a car ablaze in Loharu, Haryana’s Bhiwani, with the lifeless bodies of Nasir(25) and Junaid(35) inside. Individuals linked to cow vigilantism allegedly abducted them from a village in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district on February 15, and their bodies were found in the burned vehicle the next day.
The Haryana Police detained Manesar on Tuesday under bailable sections of the Information Technology Act, as per police sources. He’s likely to secure bail by evening, and the Rajasthan Police will assume custody for the double-murder case.
Colleagues from the Haryana Police have conveyed that they have detained Monu Manesar. After their legal procedures are complete, we will begin our procedure,”Said Mridul Kachawa, superintendent of police of Bharatpur in Rajasthan

Manesar also faces accusations of inciting the violence that occurred in Haryana’s Nuh in July, resulting in at least six deaths. The violence had begun on July 31, during the ‘Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra’ organised by the Vishva Hindu Parishad, and then spread to adjoining areas, including Gurugram.
Rumours of Manesar attending the Yatra had allegedly triggered the communal clashes. The cow vigilante, who was on the run in the murder case, had posted a video a few days before the procession, claiming that he would attend it. He had also exhorted his supporters to come out in large numbers.
It purportedly infuriated Muslim community members, who considered it a threat, sparking a heated exchange on social media platforms.
Authorities had arrested Manesar’s aide, Bittu Bajrangi, in connection with the violence last month, but subsequently granted him bail.
