Days after filing a criminal case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday detained two people in relation to the purported anomalies in the NEET-UG exam.

Based on a report submitted to the Centre by the Bihar Police’s Economic Offences Unit, the National Testing Agency (NTA) threatened to debar 17 candidates in Patna with show-cause notices on Sunday. Manish Kumar and Ashutosh Kumar have been recognised as the people that were arrested.

Bihar, Gujarat Transfer NEET-UG ‘Paper Leak’ Cases to CBI
The governments of Gujarat and Bihar made notices to the CBI to transfer their local NEET-UG “paper leak” cases to the central agency following the CBI’s registration of the criminal case. The Godhra Taluka Police Station has received a formal complaint regarding the exam misconduct. According to a statement from the Gujarat government, “the state government has decide to transfer investigation of this case to CBI so that extensive investigation could be hold in the entire matter.”

Education Ministry Appoints Expert Committee for Exam Reforms, Removes NTA Chief
The Education Ministry stated on Saturday that an expert group led by former ISRO chairman K Radhakrishnan will examine the operation of the NTA and examine test reforms. Subodh Kumar Singh also fired by the Ministry on Saturday as the head of the NTA.
