A shocking murder case has emerged from Bengaluru, where a cab driver allegedly killed his wife and six members of her family over long-standing domestic disputes. Police identified the accused as Indushekhar, who had been married to Sunitha for nearly 20 years. The couple lived in the Rajajinagar area, but their relationship had reportedly remained strained for several years. According to investigators, Indushekhar resented his wife’s close relationship with her mother and brothers. He allegedly believed that her family members interfered in their personal matters and decided to eliminate them.

Wife Murdered First, Accused Allegedly Disposed of Her Body
According to preliminary police investigations, Indushekhar allegedly attacked Sunitha with a grinding stone and killed her. He reportedly transported her body to Nandi Hills and disposed of it to conceal the crime. To avoid suspicion, he allegedly told neighbours that Sunitha had gone on a trip with her friends and had switched off her mobile phone. Police believe he planned the subsequent murders to target the relatives he blamed for the couple’s marital problems. Investigators are examining the sequence of events and collecting evidence to establish the full details of the crime.
Police said Indushekhar allegedly invited his brothers-in-law, Shivakumar and Shankar, to his house the following day under the pretext of a drinking party. He allegedly murdered both men before targeting their wives, Nalini and Divya. The accused also allegedly killed his mother-in-law, Rupavathi, and Shankar’s seven-year-old son, Puneeth. Investigators suspect he called the family members to his residence one after another before carrying out the attacks. He allegedly dumped their bodies at different locations to avoid detection.

Accused Allegedly Invited Relatives Before Killing Them
After the alleged murders, Indushekhar reportedly cleaned his house to remove bloodstains and used chemicals to wash the grinding stone suspected to have been used in the killings. Police have seized the grinding stone and the car allegedly used to transport the bodies. During the investigation, officers took the accused to Nandi Hills, where they recovered seven-year-old Puneeth’s body after several hours of searching. Police launched further search operations to locate the remaining victims. The case came to light after Nalini’s mother approached the police and filed a missing persons complaint.
Police reportedly became suspicious of Indushekhar after finding contradictions in his statements and discovering clues during a search of his residence. During questioning, he allegedly confessed to killing the seven family members and claimed that ongoing domestic disputes had caused him distress. Investigators are also examining whether anyone else helped him commit the murders, including the possible involvement of his daughter. Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge described the incident as extremely unfortunate and said the accused had reportedly claimed that his wife’s family had humiliated him. He added that the investigation was continuing and police were working to recover the remaining bodies.
