Tesla Prepares for India Entry, Plans Sales in Major Cities by Q3

The phone call came amid reports that Tesla is preparing to enter the Indian market, with plans to ship thousands of cars to a port near Mumbai in the coming months. The company is reportedly aiming to begin sales in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore by the third quarter of this year. Tesla’s entry aligns with ongoing discussions between New Delhi and Washington on import tariffs, which could influence the company’s long-term strategy in India.

Tesla’s India Plans Gain Momentum After PM Modi’s US Visit

Tesla’s renewed efforts in India follow PM Modi’s in-person meeting with Musk earlier this year during his two-day visit to the US. During that meeting, Musk gifted the Prime Minister a Starship hexagonal heatshield tile. Since then, Tesla has reportedly started hiring for showrooms and deliveries, signaling increasing momentum for their plans in India.
