The long-awaited biggest startup fest in the country was celebrated in Nagpur. The Nagpur Startup Fest 2018 brought together the Government, investors, new businesses, educational institutes, and social organizations for the first time at Kavi Suresh Bhat Sabhagruha, Reshimbag, Nagpur, on October 6, 2018. In this all-day event, the fest provided a platform for new and emerging business visionaries to showcase their true potential and discuss the challenges that each startup faces. The celebration was organized to promote entrepreneurial spirit among people, particularly the youth. It also aimed to give startups and aspiring entrepreneurs a stage to exhibit their potential and address the obstacles they encounter in envisioning a long-term successful venture. A large gathering of more than 5,000 visitors from various fields attended this amazing event. The event was organized by the Indian Council for Technical Research and Development in association with the Nagpur Municipal Council. The program was inaugurated by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and presided over by Mayor Nanda Jichkar, MP Ajay Sancheti, Member Secretary of ICTRD Ketan Mohitkar, Dewang Dave from Navayuvak, Sandip Joshi, and others.
More than 100 startups applied to pitch at NSF. out of them, 10 startups were shortlisted for pitch in front of all stakeholders, investors, and more than 2000 people. Demonstration of Droni Tech utility drone manufacturing company and Honda’s Coo App loaded two-wheelers and Bicycles were among the attractions. Various Panel Discussions were organized featuring experts from the startup ecosystem.
All shortlisted Startups were Felicitated by ICTRD and NMC. Not only winners but also all 5000 participants were provided with Participation certificates, Free Lunch, emergency medical assistance, and other amenities in this whole-day event. At the Entry & Registration Hall, many Start-up companies had put their stalls.
