Jeet Adani on expanding MRO and aircraft

Meanwhile, the Adani Group plans to expand its aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations. The move targets rising aviation demand in India. The group, along with Prime Aero, holds a stake in Indamer Technics. The company operates an MRO facility at the MIHAN-SEZ in Nagpur. As India’s aviation market grows, demand for aircraft servicing continues to rise.

In addition, the group is assessing entry into aircraft manufacturing. It has partnered with Brazilian aerospace firm Embraer. The tie-up explores setting up an aircraft manufacturing unit in India. However, the group will take a final decision after consultations. Jeet Adani said the decision will come later. This step could mark Adani Group’s entry into civil and defence aircraft manufacturing.

Coal Gasification and Power Investments in Maharashtra

At the same time, coal gasification remains a key part of the group’s Maharashtra strategy. The Adani Group plans to start work this year on its ₹70,000-crore coal gasification project. The facility will come up at Linga in Kalmeshwar near Nagpur. The project aims to reduce import dependence on industrial chemicals. It also supports advanced manufacturing. The complex is expected to create around 30,000 direct jobs.

Furthermore, Jeet Adani called the project a step toward national self-reliance. Jeet Adani said it is future-ready. The ₹70,000-crore investment marks the first phase. A second phase of similar scale is planned later.

Additionally, Maharashtra plays a major role in the group’s power portfolio. The Adani Group operates a 3,300 MW thermal power plant at Tiroda. It also revived the 600 MW Butibori plant in 2025. Moreover, under a 25-year power supply agreement, the group supplies 6,600 MW of electricity to the state. It combines solar power from Khavda with thermal generation. This ensures round-the-clock power and grid stability.
